AGENCY OF EMPLOYMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF SAYALONGA

Employment Agent: Valentín Fernández Camacho

In 1996 the Employment and Development Agency was set up by the Town-Hall of Sayalonga.

The first officer in charge of running the Agency was MARÍA MATILDE RUEDA RUIZ who made a magnificant job of it.

In 1998, Valentín Fernandez Camacho started work in the Agency and is still working today in that capacity. From this Agency all types of projects connected with tourist development are initiated. Some of the most important projects completed to date are:

• restoration of the Moorish Minaret dating from the 15th century in Corumbela
• creation of a Museum in the Round Cemetery
• creation of an historical archive for Sayalonga with a compilation of numerous books of significant importance to the municipality
• creation of a Moorish Museum in Sayalonga
• opening of the Guadalinfo Centre with public access to the Internet

As well as these main projects the Agency has also been responsible for numerous other work both for the Town Hall and private enterprise.

At present the Employment Agency of Sayalonga assists with applications for the following services and grant aid :

8. GRANT AID RELATING TO HOUSING IMPROVEMENT.

9. GRANT AID FOR HELP TO SMALL BUISNESS.

10. GRANT AID FOR ENTERPRISING HANDICRAFT.

11. GRANT AID FOR ASSOCIATIONS WITH OFFICES IN THE VILLAGE.

12. INSCRIPTION OF BUISNESSES IN THE REGISTER OF TRADESMEN

13. INSCRIPTION OF RURAL ACCOMMODATION IN THE REGISTER OF TOURIST ACTIVITIES.

CONSORCIO U.T.E.D.L.T. SIERRA ALMIJARA

 

 

The Consorcio U.T.E.D.L.T (Unidad Territorial de Empleo, Desarrollo Local y Tecnológico) "Sierra Almijara" with offices in Sayalonga has been formed with the objective of contributing to the innovation and sustainable economic development of the area.

Algarrobo, Árchez, Arenas, Canillas de Albaida, Cómpeta, Frigiliana, Nerja, Salares, Sayalonga, Sedella y Torrox , are the eleven participating villages.

Administrative matters are dealt with thus reducing the need for villagers to have to travel to the capital to complete procedures associated with the Commission of Employment Commision and other government bodies.

In addition, following the creation of the Andalusian Employment Service, the UTEDLT has become affiliated to this organisation and now receives notification of job vacancies as well as advising companies of various employment programs.

Covering the whole of Andalusia, this system forms the Andalusian Network of Territorial Units of Employment, Local and Technological Development (RAUTE). This network has 20 offices in Seville, 17 in Granada, 15 in Cadiz, 14 in Malaga , 13 in Cordoba, 10 in Almeria and 9 in Huelva .

 

 

EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMME

 

The Andalusian Employment Service has developed a new computer application called GESCONTRATA, to facilitate the administrative process of job application via the Internet.

Using this facility companies willl be able to carry out numerous administrative tasks associated with employment obligations including the hiring of workers, without need to be physically present in the relevant administrative offices. This service allows the completion of contracts, extensions, changes and modifications, etc.
