PAINTING COMPETITION |

In addition to the organised programme of events, the
Día del Níspero also marks the start of submissions for
the annual painting competition.
The competition is open to all natives or residents of Andalucia. A prize
of 1,000€ will be awarded to the best painting by all participants
with a prize of 300€ being presented to the best painting by a local
artist resident in the Sayalonga area.
Submissions must be made to the Ayuntamiento during working hours during May and each painting must have a theme in relation
to Sayalonga and nísperos.
Only one submission per painter is allowed and each picture must be an
original created using whatever medium the artist prefers.
The size of painting should be between 46 x 38cms minimum to 116 x 81cms
maximum, with delicate surfaces such as paper being protected by glass.
The paintings must be unsigned but with the following information contained
on the back of the canvas or paper:
- Painting title
- Name of artist
- Contact details
- Technique employed
- Dimensions of picture
- Curriculum of artist
- Photocopy of identification
- Price of painting
The winning painting will remain the property of the Ayuntamiento as part
of its programme of patron of local artists. All paintings will remain
in the possession of the Ayuntamiento until the beginning of August and selected
paintings will form part of an exhibition held between June
and August.

GRANT AID IN JANUARY FOR THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS
- Up to 50% reimbursement of costs to help in modernising small and medium-sized businesses.
- Up to 50% reimbursement of the costs to help modernise projects related to Andalusian craft .
- Up to 50% for the formation of co-operatives involving commercial Andalusian firms.
- Help with promotional material for commerce.
Ask for further details on any of these grant aids from the Town Hall during January.
