DAY
OF THE NÍSPERO
DECLARED AN ANDALUCÍAN FESTIVAL
OF NATIONALTOURIST INTEREST
This is without doubt an important festival for Sayalonga.
It takes place on the first Sunday of May and coincides with harvesting of the Nisperos.
This celebration includes all those involved with the production of this fruit, when the Nisperos are in full splendour. The fruit is distributed as well as marmalade produced from the Nispero together with other typical produce of the area.
Awards are made during this day reflecting the importance of work at the regional, provincial and local level. Examples of village activities which take place throughout the year are also on display.
FIESTAS OF SAYALONGA
Local fiestas take place annually and spread over a whole weekend.
Each village in the area has their own set dates every
year; for Sayalonga this time is from the second or third weekend
of July
Entertainment is provided by well-known singers
and artists. The party atmosphere can be enjoyed well into the early hours of
the mornings or until the body can take no more!
Fireworks announce the start of the fiesta on Friday morning; it finishes on Monday morning when the last straggler leaves for home.

The fiestas of Corumbela
are similar to the ones held in Sayalonga; they have their

A programme of the entertainment for this weekend, including
advertising for local businesses is published 2-3 weeks before
the fiesta takes place and distributed throughout the
village.
